As of yesterday, Savage 2: A Tortured Soul is now available on Steam:
Independent game developer S2 Games brings their cross-genre sequel Savage 2: A Tortured Soul to Steam. Savage enabled players to opt for either the fast-paced, run-and-gun action of a first-person shooter game playing as a Warrior or the more cerebral and tactical planning of a real-time strategy game playing as a Commander working together as a team to defeat the enemy. Savage 2: A Tortured Soul builds upon the addicting, fast-paced gameplay of the original with additional squad-based features and enhanced role-playing game elements which enable players to build their character level and abilities throughout the game.
As often happens, there is a $5 discount on any purchases up to 12th May, putting the price at $24.99 (~£12.80)
With a Metascore of 75, and the lowest score being a perfectly respectable 60, Savage 2 seems like it could well be a game worth checking out. The biggest criticism seems to be that the blend of First Person Shooter and Role Playing Game is a bit too much to handle! Since I love both these genres, and for the budget price, I may well consider getting hold of this myself.
For those interested, a trailer is available, and you can purchase it from here.
